If only it were that easy. Although to be fair I did research to see if I could outsource my happiness and then I realised I kind of had – I’m married 🙂
Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being characterised by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.
That is all well and good but how do you know when your happy. Have you ever stopped to think about why you might be happy at any point? I’m not sure I had until now.
I definitely know when I’m annoyed, angry or upset. But happy, that just seems to pass by almost like being on auto-pilot. Which might mean that ‘happiness’ is our natural state. We just don’t acknowledge it often enough, or at all, and those times just pass us by.
Wow! I know it’s a holiday in New Zealand but that’s a lot of thinking to do for you. I will carry on though because this is an interesting train of thought.
What are you thinking when you’re happy? That would be a great list. You could carry it with you or put on the fridge or your computer screen to remind yourself. And maybe even reading what those thoughts are could move you from another state. Worth a try if you’re not having the best of times.
I’m having one of those times at the moment but writing this has made me feel happy. So what am I thinking. … I’m thinking the exact words I’m typing now. Hmmm. This might not work for me right now I will have to come back to it later or this email will never be sent.
