Time is like money in that you ‘spend’ it. So a question for today is: Do you spend your time wisely and consciously?
I found some great quotes about spending your time but this one from Alan Lakein fitted the best:
“Time = Life, Therefore, waste your time and waste of your life, or master your time and master your life.”
Mastery takes time, and effort. It’s hard work. Sometimes for a long time because what you are mastering has taken a long time to get into the state it’s in.
So the sooner you start the less time you will have to put in. Makes sense right?
The hardest part is always starting. Conciously making mastery part of your daily life until it is embedded as a habit and then part of you.
Thinking like this requires you to pause, look inwards, and acknowledge all those random thoughts racing through your head. But like most people you’re probably too busy for that. And I could use that old chestnut that if you’re too busy then you really need to do this. But, you don’t.
However I will leave you with this today. Do you want to be near death and think why didn’t I master myself? What could I have achieved if I had done so? What would the legacy I be leaving now if I had done so?
Regrets suck. They suck energy from you and you think about them when you should be thinking of other things. Better things. Things that get your butt jumping out of bed and into the day.
Think about mastery today at least once or twice. At the least you will be thinking and at the most you could start your path to mastery.
