We have finally made it into our new office. It feels like a miracle of office-like proportions.
The saga of moving started in June. Who knew it would take almost three months to get a phone line on – we had to get a new one run – and hot water cylinders, you can’t trust them. Well not our one. The new carpet got a wash it wasn’t due for.
How is this inspirational? Good question.
It’s amazing what you can you can put up with if you have to. Really. I’ve been through stuff/staff like you wouldn’t believe and mistakes, that would put most companies out of business, have actually been great learning experiences. … No, they haven’t really. They should not have happened in the first place. But now they have we know what we have to do to have them not happen again.
As I wrote that last paragraph I realised I was looking for a silver lining. I do that. I have a positive attitude. It makes a big difference. That’s not to say I don’t get down. My lovely wife has put up with a very grumpy Glenn lately. But we got through and now we are in the office I can see it was worth the pain.
Lessons for next time. I’m going to make sure the phone line hasn’t been cut by a tradesman putting in a kitchen three doors down.
Have a great week.
