Experience is what tells you are just about to make a mistake again and hopefully pulls you up in time before you do.
Franklin P. Jones put it like this, ” Experience is that marvellous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.”
Hindsight then is a wonderful thing but not that helpful at a time when most people cannot afford to make a mistake. Your experience counts right now because you will have made mistakes, learned from them and react accordingly, and quickly, in situations that require action.
Experience means you don’t have to think to do things. They just happen. Mike Hadrup from Gravitini.com calls it “Muscle memory” and coding, martial arts, driving and almost everything else, rely on it heavily.
So whatever you have experience in tell people about it. Be bold and let people know what skills you have. You never know what opportunities your experience will bring.
